(Rzeszòw, Poland – April 2014) - Dave Farmery has today been announced as Managing Director of MB Aerospace Poland, to be based at the enlarged group’s new Rzeszòw facility.

Boasting almost two decades of industry experience, the Canadian-born Polish resident joins MB Aerospace from Pratt & Whitney where he has been on an international secondment at their WSK facility in the city.

The appointment follows international aerospace engineering group MB Aerospace’s acquisition of aero-engine component manufacturing business Norbert Industries in March 2014.

Farmery, who has previously worked for both General Electric and Smiths Aerospace in Poland, takes up the newly-created role in May and will be fully responsible for all MB Aerospace activities in Poland.

Craig Gallagher, chief executive officer of MB Aerospace, said: “We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Dave Farmery, who brings with him outstanding track record, local knowledge and industry experience.

“Dave will work closely with local staff to help structure the business for growth following our recent acquisition of Norbert Polska, as well as ensuring that we maintain high standards of service to our existing customers.

“This responsibility will include working closely with the other MB Aerospace business units in North America and in the UK to target new work packages that can draw upon the combined capacity and capabilities of the MB Aerospace group.

“We look forward to welcoming him to the business in May and supporting him in delivering future growth and success for MB Aerospace Poland.”

A Canadian citizen who lives in Poland with his family (all Polish nationals), Farmery holds a diploma in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering Technology from Mohawk College (Hamilton, Ontario). He has held a number of senior quality, engineering, business development and business unit management responsibilities in his long and successful career in the aerospace industry.

Farmery said: “It’s an honour to become the first Managing Director of MB Aerospace Poland. I’m very grateful to MB Aerospace for this exciting opportunity and share with the executive team a vision of the great potential we have here to firstly consolidate and then grow the business.

“With the excellent team and manufacturing capabilities already established here in Rzeszòw alongside MB Aerospace’s commitment to invest in the site’s technologies and capacity there is tremendous scope for us to accelerate the success of our Polish operations.”

Last month’s multi-million dollar deal to acquire Norbert’s operations in Michigan, USA and Rzeszów, Poland, means MB Aerospace now employs nearly 900 staff across North America and Europe.

Further, the acquisition expands the coverage of aero-engines supported by the group to more than 60 various OEM platforms across Commercial, Industrial Gas Turbines and Defence applications.
